I did not purchase this fan from this vendor but, I wanted to warn others about the light on this fan. Buyer Beware - fan light is VERY, VERY DIM!
The Fantech manual says to replace the bulb with a CFL type 4, 26W light. This is INCORRECT. This fan only uses a 13W G24Q-1 CFL lamp. When I contacted Fantech management, I was told the 26W is a typo! Who would ever choose this fan with the light feature that has a ballast that will only support a 13W lamp! Not only is the info incorrect in the fan manual but, the few places that I could find info about this fan online, also says this fan uses a 26W CFL bulb. Buyer beware! This bulb isn't common in retail stores. When I was researching fans, I was looking for the quietest one I could afford but, I also needed a light in the fan. I could live with a 26W CFL, which is what I expected. The equivalent incandescent to a 26W CFL is 100W. 13W is a joke.
Forget Fantech support. The tech I spoke with originally to see if I could increase the wattage size didn't have a clue about the bulb wattage, base size or the ballast size! He told me the fan could support a 60W CFL! I had to do my own research online to find out that the G24Q-1 lamp base is only sold in a 13W - that's how I knew the fan couldn't have a 26W lamp installed as was stated in the manual. Wish I knew all this before my contractor installed 2 of these in my home last week! I want to point out that the fan is VERY quiet. This fan is sold as a fan unit only too - no light. If you just need a fan, I would recommend this fan but, if you need a fan with an adequate light - steer clear!
