Upgrade your Intercom

Many models upgrade to either NuTone® or M&S Systems later units.

Check your wiring
All current NuTone & M&S models use home-run wiring.
Much older units have 3 or 4 wire wiring. Then some
old NuTone models used 'loop wiring' rather than
'home-run' (a separate wire runs from 'home' to each satellite).
If the wiring is looped, you must rewire to upgrade.

Your current model number will always be either on the top front corner
or printed inside on a door on the front of your system.

Latest Upgrade for 3 and 4 wire Systems

This is the new NuTone Model NM100 for 3 or 4 wire NuTone or M&S systems.

Simply select the appropriate speakers for your system. All 4-wire remote station models can select 'talk' or 'listen' to other speakers. The 3-wire models can select 'talk' to other remote stations, master unit and 'talk/listen' to the door speaker. Each has an intercom volume control.

Your may be able to upgrade NuTone to either NM200 or IMA516. If your wiring is 'home run' - that is a wire runs individually to each remote from the master station - you can convert to either system. If not, you must convert to the NM200 system.
